The work they did on the costumes is pretty astounding, there are notes everywhere (with a lot of small text in Japanese and English). The next 80 pages are dedicated to the game’s characters and it includes research, model sheets, sketches and so on. The first chapter, from page 4 to 48 is a collection of pretty amazing illustrations in different formats: So, honestly, I don’t know what it’s about!īut let’s start this review anyway, because even if I’m not a fan and the title is overly complicated, this artbook is pretty great in terms of content! Oh and by the way, in the tradition of Japanese games, the full title of this book is extremely long: “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, The Art of Eorzea - Another Dawn-”. The cover is rather dark by the way, on the image above you can clearly see the title but in real life, depending on the light, it’s not that easy to read. In terms of format (almost A4) and cover, it’s pretty classic. I guess if you’re reading this, there’s nothing I can say about Final Fantasy that you don’t know so I’ll start with the book right now. I have to say that I’m not a fan of the Final Fantasy series, I know some stuff about it through friends but I never got interested in it myself (I don’t hate it, it’s just not my cup of tea). So, here’s another book lent to me by my good friend Aurélien. Subject: The making of Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Rebornĭimensions: 21 x 28.5 cm (8.2 x 11.2 in)
